Jonathan M. Jenkins is a litigator and trial lawyer with an unrelenting drive to achieve favorable client results. He cut his teeth for a number of years at international powerhouse Latham & Watkins LLP. Jonathan now represents Fortune 500 corporations, mid-sized companies and partnerships, and financial institutions/mortgage bankers in a diverse range of matters. His cases have received wide media attention in the New York Times, Vanity Fair, Fox TV News, and the Hollywood Reporter.
Jonathan has considerable expertise in representing banks and other mortgage producers, particularly in securitized loan putback litigation involving hundreds or even thousands of loans. He served as the Acting General Counsel of a federal bank, where he appealed adverse regulatory determinations to the highest levels of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
Jonathan has also developed specialization in the field of art litigation, having successfully represented galleries and collectors in high-value ownership and copyright disputes, including an action involving ownership of a 180 piece Salvador Dali art collection created for the 1945 Alfred Hitchcock film, Spellbound.
Originally trained as a scientist, Jonathan obtained his B.S. in Chemistry, summa cum laude, from Yale University, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School, cum laude. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys high-altitude mountaineering and rock and ice climbing. He served for many years on the Board of Directors for the Yale Club of Los Angeles, including a two-year term as President.
